Selection

Juniper picked from the Armenian Highlands is the trademark ingredient of our drink.

Infusion

Rosehip, basil, chamomile, strawberry, wild cherry, peach, and other ingredients are used to achieve specific flavors and give extraordinary sensations.

Distilation

After the infusion, all the ingredients are distilled separately using two types of equipment: Copper Alembic and Column Still distillation equipment.

Coupling

The spirit undergoes a resting period of two weeks, and then the very important part begins. Our master distiller expertly blends the spirits to ensure the same taste and aroma in every batch.

Filtration

Chill filtration is a method of filtering used to remove residue and cloudiness which appears when the spirit drops below a certain temperature or mixed with pure water.

Bottoling

Finally, we have our gin ready to taste with its 3 flavors available.

a century of tradition

Trip to Cuba

A business trip to Cuba passed through London in the eighties. It was there that the scientist Vardan Yavruyan tasted gin for the first time. He immediately felt that there was something specific and genuine about the drink. After returning to Armenia, he was determined to create the drink in his homeland.

1986

Experimenting with Armenian juniper and botanicals

He used juniper berries, coriander seeds, and botanicals which grow exclusively in the Armenian Highlands and have an unusual taste.

1987

The ideal gin recipe

He experimented with various methods and eventually discovered the ideal recipe that captured the essence of Armenia's nature. Despite the meticulous research and a detailed production plan, "Vogis" remained confined to research papers...

1988

The gin recipe was found

Years later, the younger members of the Yavruyan family found the Gin recipe in the scientific papers of their grandpa. After experimenting with the recipe, they reproduced the drink.

2019

Enlivening the recipe

The drink is made by a unique technique. All the ingredients are distilled separately in the copper alembic. Then, all the spirits get coupled and are aged under special conditions. The gin derived has an indescribable taste and delicate aroma.

2020

The first bottle of Vogis

In December 2021, the product was officially launched. The gin was named "Vogis," which translates to "spirit" in Armenian. Today, Vogis is available in three distinctive flavors: classic dry, peach, and wild cherry

2021

Worldwide distribution

You can now discover VOGIS gins in various locations throughout Yerevan. Vogis gin has expanded its availability to the USA and France markets. Our mission is to share the distinctive taste of the Armenian Highlands with the world, blending ancestral knowledge with a future guided by science.

Wild Cherry Gin

Vogis “Wild Cherry” is the reflection of our souls. It has mild tones and bold tones at times, like life itself. The drink has a tender taste that combines the flavor of Armenian wild cherry. 

Classic Dry gin

Dry Classic Gin “Vogis” contains juniper berries, coriander seeds, Earl Grey, lemongrass, rosehip, basil, chamomile and strawberry. This unique combination creates a gorgeous bouquet that is impossible to forget.

Peach gin

Vogis “Peach” has become a significant addition to the Vogis collection. The peach and alpine mint combination makes the drink more alluring and refined. The aroma has an irresistible power.
